Adaptive Mosaicing: Principle and Application to the Mosaicing of Large Image Data Sets
نویسندگان
چکیده
Automatic image compositing of very large data sets is necessary for the creation of extensive mosaics based on high spatial resolution remotely sensed imagery. A novel morphological image compositing algorithm has been developed which adapts to salient images edges. This technique produces seam lines that are difficult to identify by the naked eye which is also a characteristic to measure the quality of the resulting seam line. This paper begins with a description of the methodology and results based on Landsat 7 TM imagery. It is also shown how updates to an already composited image data set can be easily made without having to reprocess the entire data set. Finally, ways of quantifying the quality of an automatically delineated cut line and future research directions are discussed. A moving-object invariant video mosaicing technique applicable to the detection and monitoring activity over a wide area using an active camera has been proposed. There has been a large literature on image mosaicing, however, many of these algorithms focus on the static scene mosaicing using homography among the frames. There has also been recent work on activity monitoring and detection. Such ...
متن کاملIntensity Based Image Mosaicing
Image Mosaicing is useful in a variety of vision and computer graphics applications like 3d vision, photogrammetry, satellite imagery, video images etc. The basic reason for Image Mosaicing is that camera vision is limited to 50 by 35 degrees, and Human Vision is limited to 200 degrees. By using Image Mosaicing we can ideally have 360 by 180 degrees vision. The modified version of Intensity Bas...
متن کاملA survey on image mosaicing techniques
Image Mosaicing is a method of assembling multiple overlapping images of the same scene into a larger image. The output of the image mosaic will be the union of two input images. Image-mosaicing algorithms are used for obtaining a mosaiced image. There are five steps used in image mosaicing which includes; Feature extraction, Image registration, Computing homography, Warping and Blending. Featu...
متن کاملImage versus feature mosaicing: A case study in fingerprints
Fingerprint mosaicing entails the reconciliation of information presented by two or more impressions of a finger in order to generate composite information. It can be accomplished by blending these impressions into a single mosaic, or by integrating the feature sets (viz., minutiae information) pertaining to these impressions. In this work, we use Thin-plate Splines (TPS) to model the relative ...
متن کاملAutomatic Gigapixel Mosaicing in Large Scale Unstructured Underground Environments
We are currently developing a vision-based system aiming at automatically generating in situ ultra-high resolution mosaics in previously unknown, complex and unstructured underground environments. Nowadays, image stitching algorithms present several limitations when dealing with unstructured environments. The most important to our concern is the ability to deal with feature-less areas. In this ...
